Financial Training & Events
The Center offers trainings for board members and staff, designed to increase the knowledge and competency of understanding nonprofit financials. Our training series was developed with Certified Public accountants from the nonprofit and private sector and are led by CPAs that are members of the New Mexico Society of CPAs.
Topics include IRS changes, Sarbanes Oxley Issues and concerns, understanding financial statements and more. We also work closely with the NMSCPAs to connect volunteer CPAs to local nonprofit boards.
Local CPAs are paired with agencies to assist with financial oversight through consultation or board participation. To participate in the board matching program, contact: dana@uwcnm.org.
